Oman Is the New Dubai: 5 Foreign Tech Companies That Just Moved In

In just one year, Oman has attracted a wave of global tech giants — and three of them are from India. From semiconductors to AI, here's why the world is sidelining Dubai and heading straight to Muscat.

In the past 12 months, Oman has pulled off what few predicted — it has become a magnet for global tech giants. And we’re not just talking about regional players. We're talking India, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia's most aggressive innovators planting their flags in Muscat.

While UAE still dazzles with its skyscrapers, a quieter but far more strategic transformation is unfolding in Oman. Muscat has become the new sweetheart of tech expansion in the Gulf. And here's the kicker — three of the five companies on this list are from India, putting the subcontinent firmly in the driver’s seat of Gulf tech.

1. Kaynes Semicon 🇮🇳

India’s chip design powerhouse, Kaynes Semicon, made headlines when it launched its first overseas VLSI design centre in Oman in May 2025. Backed by Oman’s Ministry of Transport, Communications & IT, the move marks a strategic leap toward semiconductor sovereignty in the Gulf.

Why it matters? It’s not just a training center — it’s a pipeline for deep-tech talent, R&D, and supply chain diversification, all happening right in Muscat.

2. Inzint 🇮🇳

A rising star in AI and custom software development, Inzint expanded from India to Oman in early 2025, positioning itself as one of the few companies offering AI-powered voice bots, smart CRM systems, and vertical-specific automation—all locally supported.

Founded by two developers — Vikas & Jai, Inzint has disrupted sectors from healthcare to real estate across the Gulf. Its Oman subsidiary now powers automation for local businesses with on-ground support teams and Arabic-trained AI models.

"We chose Oman not just for cost or location—but for vision. It’s the only Gulf market serious about tech that's both accessible and ambitious." — Jaideep Goyal, Director of Inzint

3. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) 🇮🇳

Yes, the IT behemoth. TCS opened its first Oman delivery center in May 2025, joining its network of 10 centers across the Middle East. TCS now provides enterprise-grade IT services, cloud consulting, and digital transformation support to Omani public and private sector players.

With its arrival, Oman gets a direct plug-in to global-grade technology with local impact — a big win for national digital transformation goals.

4. Elm Company 🇸🇦

Saudi Arabia’s government-owned tech leader, Elm, opened its first regional office outside KSA in Muscat in June 2025. Known for its prowess in digital government, e-services, and cybersecurity, Elm’s Oman entry sends a strong signal: Muscat is now central to GCC digital transformation strategies.

5. Aselsan 🇹🇷

Turkey’s Aselsan — a defense-tech and communications powerhouse — entered Oman in July 2024. While traditionally focused on military systems, its Oman office also supports civilian infrastructure and telecommunications tech, showing how Oman is diversifying its tech partnerships beyond the usual players.

📊 Did You Know?

  • Oman’s FDI grew by 18% in 2024—reaching over OMR 30 billion in total value.
  • FDI in manufacturing and tech services grew faster than oil & gas for the first time.
  • 3 of the 5 tech companies expanding to Oman in the past year are from India.

📉 So... Why Are They Ditching Dubai?

Dubai still attracts enterprise—but growth has slowed to single digits in some sectors. In contrast, Oman is clocking double-digit FDI growth year-over-year—especially in manufacturing, AI, fintech, and enterprise software.

The difference? Oman is cheaper, less crowded, and laser-focused on enabling business—not just hosting it. Fast-tracked licensing, local talent pipelines, and national AI strategies are creating an ecosystem where tech companies don’t just survive—they thrive.

“Oman is not the underdog anymore. It’s the place where decisions are faster, costs are lower, and your tech actually gets built.” — GCC-based venture capitalist

🇴🇲 Oman Is the New Dubai

With an 18% FDI jump in 2024 and a multi-sector reform wave under Oman Vision 2040, the Sultanate has become the GCC's most startup-friendly environment. It’s where global companies can still move fast, hire affordably, and work closely with regulators—without paying Dubai’s premium.

Dubai is for show. Oman is for scale. And global tech giants are making their choice clear.
